MRCEM is the membership examination of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM), covering the Primary, Intermediate SBA and OSCE stages. It is a common route for international emergency doctors moving towards NHS emergency medicine posts.

Does MRCEM require UK experience?

No. You can prepare and sit MRCEM from overseas; the exam tests knowledge and clinical reasoning rather than UK employment history.

How long will it take me to prepare for the MRCEM?

Most working doctors give themselves 12–20 weeks with our programme, studying around 8–10 hours a week. Your pace is flexible - everything is recorded so you can catch up around shifts.

What happens if I fail the exam on my first attempt?

You keep access to the course materials and mentor community for a full year, and we run complimentary strategy sessions for candidates preparing for a re-sit. See our full re-sit policy in your enrolment confirmation.

Do I need to be in the UK to take this course?

No. All teaching happens online and our students join from more than 40 countries. Live sessions are timed in rotating slots so cohorts across Asia, Africa and the Middle East can attend comfortably.

Will I get a certificate at the end?

Yes - a WispGold Certificate of Completion is issued once you finish all modules and pass the internal mock. This is a study certificate, not the Royal College qualification itself.

How realistic are the OSCE practice stations?

Stations follow the RCEM blueprint and are timed exactly as on exam day, with examiner-style marking sheets so you see where marks are won and lost.

How much does the course cost, and how do I pay?

Pricing is confirmed on enquiry. Once an advisor sends your quote you can pay by card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), Apple Pay or Google Pay in GBP, USD, EUR, INR, AED or NGN. Hospital and university cohorts of five or more can pay by bank transfer.

What happens after I submit the enrolment form?

A student advisor emails you within one working day with your cohort dates, the student-area login and a short readiness questionnaire. If you'd rather talk first, book a 20-minute consultation from our contact page.

Can I get help planning a re-sit if I don't pass?

Yes. Your access runs for 12 months from enrolment, so you keep every lesson, mock and mentor channel. We also run a complimentary re-sit strategy session where a tutor reviews your score report with you and rebuilds your revision plan.
